Draft Number 2 of my Anime Character. Yes, you’re probably thinking what I’m thinking… What’s wrong with her hand? It looks like a claw! I know, I know… there’s still a lot of work left to be done until it goes to print.

Losing Flight

March 11, 2012

The concept behind this idea is to demostrate the seductive nature of a female.

I started with an image of a female model hanging upside down. I first rotated this image to create the sensation of her being pulled, being overpowered by an unseen entity. I then added wings to create drama and allude to her struggle. The clouds came naturally. The ribbon and rose pedals were added to give a flowing directionality to the image, and to emphasize her losing battle.

Floral Logo

March 11, 2012

A Client asked me to create a logo purely out of shapes. I started with a single circle and duplicated repeatedly. After 2 hours of circumambulatory drawing, a sunflower emerged.

Dental Group Logo

March 11, 2012

A Client asked for a bold, strong logo to symbolize his dental company. I came up with the concept of the shield, a defensive entity to safeguard against cavities and oral disease!

I polished up this 3D shield with a glare running from one side to the other to make it really shine.

Anime Character

March 11, 2012

A friend of mine is going away for grad school and I wanted to do something special for her.

Instead of buying her something that she could easily get herself, I chose to illustrate a portrait of her.

I chose to leave it unfinished telling her I’ll finish it when she returns.  Hopefully she’ll come back for the finish version.

Kathy Zhang

March 11, 2012

I created this website for the talented Ms. Kathy Zhang. Her illustrations are mesmerizing, her brush strokes amazing. I knew I had to utilize every ounce of her art.

I started with a white canvas, so nothing could distract the user from her paintings. I added some neat jQuery codes to flip each canvas with a click of the mouse.
